The Alexis Hotel, with its art walk and support to local arts, has always been recognized as “The Art Hotel” for Seattle. The hotel’s rotating art exhibits in the lobby and other public spaces draw a loyal following of collectors and supporters. The purpose of this renovation was to create a collage of stylish spaces and guestrooms that elevated the hotel’s support of arts and culture in Seattle. Our intent was to design a collection of rooms that reflect the attitude, creativity, and energy of an artist. Eccentric, stylish, eclectic, and avant-garde, the luxurious rooms were designed to whimsically juxtapose traditional design elements with more contemporary shapes and forms. What we’ve accomplished is a surrealistic, residential collection that engages the hotel guest in an experience that’s akin to visiting the home of an art collector.
